One of the things I love most about growing flowers for weddings is that every season brings a short list of blooms that simply can’t be rushed.
This arrangement is filled with flowers that have a very brief window of perfection. Peonies, garden roses, delphinium, and other seasonal favorites all come together for a few magical weeks before the garden moves on to the next chapter.
That’s part of what makes locally grown wedding flowers so special.
When flowers are harvested from a farm rather than shipped across the country, they can be cut at exactly the right stage. The result is flowers with more movement, better fragrance, and a fresh-from-the-garden character that’s difficult to replicate.
I especially love the combination of soft blush pinks, creamy whites, and pale blue delphinium in this arrangement. The colors feel romantic without being overly sweet, while the eucalyptus adds a touch of softness and movement.
Many couples come to me with inspiration photos, but what often surprises them is how much more beautiful seasonal flowers can be when they’re allowed to shine in their natural moment. Instead of recreating a recipe from the internet, we can design with flowers that are thriving right here on the farm.
Some years the peonies are spectacular. Some years the garden roses steal the show. Some years it’s the delphinium reaching toward the sky.
That’s the beauty of seasonal flowers. No two years are exactly alike.
This arrangement captures one of those fleeting moments when several favorite flowers overlap, creating something that feels effortless, romantic, and unmistakably connected to the season.
And for a flower farmer, those moments are always worth celebrating.
